Week 04
Moodboards
Today I have created several moodboards and planned out some colour schemes. My story has been under a bit of revising, I believe I will still go with History as my brief but I am tackling how I can perhaps combine the historical environment of the Aboriginal people of Australia with my own story. The reason I want to make up my own story is because history has been recorded differently in Aboriginal culture, it has been handed down through ceremonies and spoken stories, so there are not any tablets or scrolls like there is for European history, only cave paintings and stories passed on down the generations.
My research will still continue though with the theme of Australian Aboriginals. Below are all my moodboards
Animals of Australia
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
Here is a moodboard of native animals to Australia, I find it important to research these because if I have cave paintings then they most likely are going to involve animals, the dingo in particular feature in cave paintings frequently as they were used as companion animals on hunting duties.
Cave Art Found in Australia
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
Cave art is an obvious one to moodboard, all of these images have been found in caves/walls in Australia. This is an important moodboard for me because I might need to look into this to inspire the style of my own cave paintings.
Celebrations by Aboriginals of Australia
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
I created this moodboard to give me a sense of the culture of the Australian Aboriginals, this is of course a very important part of my research, I have also been reading up on there history a lot, especially their origins in the Australian continent.
Aboriginal Environment
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
This moodboard is to reflect the environment inhabited by the Aboriginals to give me a sense of how they populated their living space, This shows me they lived in open spaces in small huts, I have read though that some tribes lived near the sea for the fishing potential, but caves are more likely to form inland (or at least accessible caves).
Aboriginal Food Sources
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
This moodboard is showing the foods that the Aboriginal Australians would of had access to, This is an important access to possibly add to my environment to make it look lived in.
Native Australian Plants
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
This moodboard is similar to the one above but for plants, If I am to have an entrance to this cave then I will need to populate it with some plants, It is probably a good idea to think about having small plants dotted around the cave as well.
Aboriginal Tools/Weapons
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
The moodboard above relates more to tool and the one below relates more to weapons used by Aboriginal Australians. These would some of the main items created to populate the cave to compliment the story.
