Week 04
Colour Palettes
Because my environment is set in Australia, I have created a moodboard of the 'Australian Outback' to pick a colour palette from. I used the colour pick tool in Photoshop to select colours from the images in my moodboard, this helped to get an initial colour palette. This has also helped me to see the general colours of the surrounding vegetation.
I do not own these images or hold the copyright for them, they have been purely put together in this moodboard for educational purposes.
I then picked one of the colours that I could see dominated the landscape, brown. I went into the adobe online program, Kuler.
I put in the RGB values of the specific brown I picked and I was able to quickly generate different colour palettes based on shades, Analogue, Monochromatic and complimentary colour schemes. The starting colour was the brown on the left of the image below. and the other colour schemes were generated based on this colour.
Its difficult at the moment for me pick a colour palette as of this moment, I aim to get my story and environment, asset list and some early concepts for the layout of my environment, only then can I confidently pick one of these as my colour palette.
